Joseph Zito is a partner at The Becker Organization (“TBO”) and is its Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.  As a hands-on executive, Mr. Zito directs the business operations of TBO through the planning, organizing, and overseeing of the day to day activities of the firm.  Mr. Zito is a key driver in the development and implementation of strategies to accommodate current and future organizational capabilities, plans, and needs of TBO.  In his dual role, Mr. Zito is additionally responsible for the financial management of the firm including reporting and planning, internal control, risk assessment, taxation, acquisitions, restructurings, and other specialized accounting areas.

 

Mr. Zito joined The Becker Organization in 2008 as controller and the Chief Operating Officer of the firm’s residential property management company.  During this time, Mr. Zito assisted in significantly directing the financial management of TBO and as a result, in 2010, Mr. Zito was named Chief Financial Officer.  With the continued growth of the firm and Mr. Zito’s influential role in long-term planning and strategy development, he was named the Chief Operating Officer in 2012.  Mr. Zito has been instrumental in the firm’s acquisition and management of 1,000,000 square feet of office space, 700,000 square feet of industrial and warehouse space, 500,000 square feet of retail space, 1,000 residential units and 3,000 parking spaces.

Prior to joining TBO, Mr. Zito spent 4 years with Fishbein & Company, which is now Mazars USA LLP, as a public accountant.
